BetMzansi (https://betmzansi.net) is an independent affiliate review and comparison service for South African online bookmakers. We are the responsible party in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 ("POPIA") for the personal information we collect via this website.
Information we collect
We collect a small amount of information, all of it for the purposes set out below.
- Information you give us: when you email us, sign up to the newsletter or fill in the contact form, we receive your name, email and the contents of your message.
- Automatically collected: aggregated, non-personal traffic data such as device type, browser, approximate location (country/region), referring URL and pages visited. This is collected through privacy-respecting analytics.
- Cookies: small text files used to remember preferences and measure traffic. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time without affecting site functionality.
We do not collect betting account information, payment details or anything else you submit to a bookmaker. When you tap an outbound link, you leave our site and the receiving bookmaker becomes responsible for its own data collection.
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiries.
- To send you the newsletter you opted in to (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- To improve site content and detect technical issues.
- To comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Affiliate links
Many of the outbound links on BetMzansi are affiliate links. If you sign up at a bookmaker after clicking one of our links, we may earn a commission at no cost to you. This does not influence our editorial verdicts or which operators we feature.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with trusted processors who help us operate the site (for example, our email provider and analytics tool), and only under contracts that bind them to POPIA-equivalent protections.
Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct or delete inaccurate information.
- Object to processing for direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).

Data retention
We keep your information only as long as needed to fulfil the purpose it was collected for, or as required by law. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.

All data is transmitted to and from BetMzansi over HTTPS. We apply industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page; the "last updated" date at the top tells you when we last made changes.
